Recently I am also trying to work in the ubuntu operating system. and I faced to connect to internet using my USB modem. In this tutorial you will see how to create a connection of internet using an identified USB modem in Ubuntu 10.10. But to have an good experience in Ubuntu internet connection is must. Now a days, USB modems have become very popular and most of us don’t know how to use modems in Ubuntu. I will describe how we can configure USB modem in our pc with Ubuntu 10.10.
Step 1: Go to System > Preferences > Network Connections
Step 2: Click Mobile Broadband > Add
Step 3: Before you proceed to next screen it will show you the following massage. Make sure you have all the necessary information that it needs. Just click on the ” Forward” button
Step 4: Now it will ask you to select your country. Just choose your country (Bangladesh) and click on the ” Forward” button
Step 5: You will find a list of supported modem. Choose one from the list given.
Step 6: In the “Choose your Billing Plan” screen provide the information correctly and click on the ” Forward” button
Step 7: Just click on the “Apply” button to apply all settings.
Wish internet connection is ready in your ubuntu 10.10 operating system. Enjoy!!!
